Pasta with butter and parmesan was invented by Alfredo di Lelio in Rome, due to a great desire to prepare something delicious for his pregnant wife. This recipe is a delight on the Italian table, and everyone loves it.
Pasta with Parmesan and Butter is also called Fettuccine Alfredo because Alfredo had the idea of adding Parmesan on top of the pasta butter. Later, this dish became very popular in Italy, but also in other countries, thanks to actors Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbank who ate this type of pasta, in 1927, at the Alfredo di Lelio restaurant and later popularized it in the United States. .
– 400 gr dry fettucine pasta or any type of spaghetti to taste
-300 ml cooking cream
-200 gr grated parmesan
-30 g butter
– freshly grated nutmeg to taste
– freshly ground black pepper
Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package and most importantly al dente. Combine the cooking cream, nutmeg and butter in a skillet, then add the Parmesan. Drain the pasta, but leave about 100 ml of water to cook the pasta. Place the pasta over the cream, parmesan, and nutmeg mixture and mix well. If you think the sauce is too thick, add the pasta water gradually. Sprinkle with fresh pepper and serve warm.
