If you want to surprise your loved ones or you just want something delicious, but you don’t want to waste too much time in the kitchen, this biscuit and banana cake is the perfect recipe. The cheapest cakes are made without baking and are very tasty.

Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit and it’s not the cheapest no-bake cake out there, but you definitely won’t break the bank while shopping. This Banana Biscuit Cake recipe is super easy and guaranteed results. Here’s how to do it.

For the base you will need:

– 600 g biscuits

– 2-3 bananas

For the cream you will need:

– 1 liter orange juice (can also be made with other fruit juices)

– a glass of sugar

– 8 tablespoons of semolina

For the glaze you will need:

– 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

– 2 tablespoons of sugar

– 3 tablespoons of milk

– 50 gr butter

The cheapest way to make a cake without baking

First of all we have to prepare the cream. Pour the orange juice into a saucepan, then add the sugar and semolina. We mix thoroughly with a whisk and, after adding the dry ingredients, we leave the composition for 30 minutes.

We put the mixture back on the fire until it thickens and the first bubbles appear on the surface. During this time, we continue to stir with a whisk. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 2 hours to thicken further. We take a mixer and beat the cold slurry until it becomes smooth, whitish and fluffy.

Cut the bananas into thin slices and set aside.

How to assemble banana biscuit cake

Cover the square cake shape with food foil, then apply a thick layer of cream on the bottom. Place a layer of biscuits on top of the first layer of cream, then cover with a generous layer of cream and a layer of banana. Continue alternating layers of cake, cream, and banana until all ingredients are used up.

The last layer should be biscuits. Cover the cake with cling film and refrigerate for 8 hours to allow the biscuits to harden.

After 8 hours, turn over on a plate or chopper and remove the cling film.

Now it’s time to prepare the frosting. Place cocoa powder, sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan. Stirring constantly, cook the resulting composition over low heat until it becomes homogeneous and thickens. This process takes a maximum of 7 minutes.

Transfer the warm frosting to a piping bag and pipe onto the cake’s surface. Portion and serve.
